Every Buildkite pipeline is a list of steps. Which kind of step you reach for decides what the build can do — run work, pause for a human, wait for everything before it, or start a different pipeline entirely.

This module covers the step types and the single most common misreading of a pipeline file: assuming the order you wrote things in is the order they run.
