Verify a credential
Enter the identifier printed on the credential. No account is needed, and the answer is the same for everyone.
What verification tells you
Four answers, kept distinct because they mean different things:
- Valid — issued by us, still current, not withdrawn.
- Expired — genuinely earned, but past its validity period. The holder did the work; the credential has simply lapsed.
- Revoked — withdrawn by us, with a reason recorded. This is not the same as never having existed.
- Not found — no such identifier was ever issued.
What a credential claims
That on a stated date, against a stated exam version, a named person demonstrated a specific set of skills. The exam version appears on every result, so the claim stays checkable: objectives change, and a credential earned against one version attests to that version's objectives.
It is not a statement that the holder currently works with Buildkite, that any particular configuration is endorsed, or that they act on Buildkite's behalf. See what a credential attests.
Checking in bulk
Add .json to any verification URL for a machine-readable
answer — /verify/BK-XXXXX-XXXXX.json. It reports the same four
states, is CORS-open, and needs no credentials of its own.
