A pipeline file does not have to be static. A step can work out what needs building and hand those steps back to Buildkite while the build is running.

This is how monorepos avoid running everything on every commit, and how test suites get sharded by real timing data rather than a guess. This module includes a hands-on unit you complete in your own Buildkite organisation.

Counts toward Buildkite Platform Engineer (recommended) , Buildkite Pipeline Author (required) . You can also complete it on its own.
