Programme policy
Retakes and recertification
Last updated 2026-08-11
One attempt at a time
You may hold one in-progress attempt across the whole programme. Starting a second is refused until the first is submitted or its time runs out. This is enforced by the system, not by trust.
The clock
Time limits are kept on the server. Closing the page, losing your connection, or changing device does not pause an attempt. When the limit is reached, whatever you have saved is graded as your submission.
Answers save automatically as you work, so an interrupted attempt is graded on what you had written rather than on nothing.
Retakes
If you do not pass, you may sit the exam again. A failed attempt does not consume a credential and is not published anywhere.
How long a credential lasts
| Track | Valid for |
|---|---|
| Pipeline Author | 2 years |
| Platform Engineer | 2 years |
| Partner Implementer | 1 year |
Partner credentials are shorter because they carry commercial weight and the product surface they cover moves faster.
Recertification
A credential does not silently lapse into invalidity — verification reports
expired distinctly from revoked, so anyone checking can tell the difference
between a credential that ran its course and one that was withdrawn.
Revocation
A credential may be withdrawn if it was obtained by misrepresentation. Every attempt keeps an append-only record of what was assessed and how it was graded, so a withdrawal can be explained rather than asserted.
